Religious Man

I know you are religious

That is what some said

When starting up a conversation

From the heart and not the head

Yes, I did make judgments

As most men do

But I saw something different

Beauty through and through

I saw no acrobats

I saw no porn stars

I saw no one different from me

I too have scars

I was made to feel honored

By all the people I met

For some odd reason

I was given much respect

As for me and religion

It’s Jesus that I love

I love people too

Just as Jesus does

So you could call me religious

But that doesnt make me better

I just wanted you to know this

So I wrote this letter
